This spring District 161 schools are celebrating community literacy by participating in the One District, One Book initiative. Elementary schools will be reading A Cricket in Times Square by George Selden. All families and staff members are encouraged to participate and will each receive a copy of the text. The goal is to encourage a life-long love of reading and a strong sense of community. Extra copies of both titles will be available at the Flossmoor Public Library for anyone that would like to join in the initiatives. Kick-off date is Monday April 29th.
